Old model DTC buses with the words, 'Rain Basera' written on it are the night shelters for poor homeless people in New Delhi.

Delhi government has turned the old model DTC buses into free night shelters for the homeless, providing a low-cost but innovative way to relief those who are forced to sleep out in the open in the city's bitter cold. These old buses are know as rain basera which are open from 7:00pm to 7:00am and people of all ages line up outside the rain basera to save themselves from chill cold winter.

The abandoned buses act as a patient waiting area for the AIIMS patients as they spend their sleepless nights waiting for the treatment.
