Going diving in the Andaman Islands of India!

SCUBA originally stands for - self contained underwater breathing apparatus. Now it is considered as a word in its own. It means underwater diving where the diver wears a scuba gear and carries a scuba set for oxygen. The scuba diver carries compressed air in a source for breathing unlike in the traditional diving which was either on breath-hold or on air pump. This allows the diver greater mobility and movement and gives him freedom to cover greater underwater area. This is much better than the breath holding technique as it lets the diver stay underwater for a longer duration. The diver usually moves underwater with the help of swimfins attached to feet and external propulsion can be achieved from underwater vehicles.
