Another night of clashes between protesters and riot police in Ferguson, Missouri.
Police say they came under heavy gunfire and arrested 31 people overnight, as rioters hurled petrol bombs and bottles at officers near their armored vehicles.
Police responded with teargas and stun grenades but say they fired no bullets.
It was the tenth night of violent protest in this St. Louis suburb, demonstrators angry over the shooting death of an unarmed black teenager by a white police officer.
Captain Ron Johnson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol appealed for peaceful protesters to distance themselves from those he calls agitators.
