My Ode to Silence
Is silence itself.
Only words can say
My thanks to noise
My lips part slowly
As if to speak
But I change my mind
And turn away
My eyes sparkle,
I want to talk.
Yet whenever I do
It ends up wrong.
My hands shake
I mean to gesture
But why move
when words dissappear
In the air
Like smoke from an engine,
Poisoning the world?
