A beautiful English bulldog that was found suffering on the side of a Florida road is now recovering. At the time she was discovered, the pooch now named Princess was extremely sick and alone.
She was unconscious when a Good Samaritan spotted her. The dog was so malnourished that she couldn’t even stay awake.
The Good Samaritan scooped her up and took her to Adopt-a-Bull Rescue. There, staffers learned she had a microchip.
Princess had been purchased from a pet store and later returned because she had mange. Employees did a little more digging into the case and found the owner of the pet store and puppy mill operation who sold her.
Given that Princess didn’t have any fleas or ticks on her, it isn’t suspected she lived on the streets for long. Adopt-a-Bull Rescue employees think whoever left her on the road allowed her condition to worsen to the point where she was barely surviving.
The President of the rescue organization, Erica Rodriguez remarked “We're doing our own investigation here.. but have also reached out to the county in Miami-Dade Animal Services to try to .. help us find the person responsible for doing this to her.”
The brighter news is that Princess has gained some weight and is recovering beautifully. She is expected to fully regain her health and land in a loving forever home.
