US led airstrikes have targeted oil refineries controlled by Islamic State militants in eastern Syria.
The US military said they were prefabricated structures and constructed off-site so they can be transported and made operational quickly. They were capable of producing millions in revenue and have been providing fuel for the ISIL’s operations.
Meanwhile, British Prime Minister David Cameron speaking at the United Nations in New York has said he wants Britain to join the airstrikes after the Iraqi government requested London’s help in fighting the militants.
Parliament is due to vote on the action this Friday.
Belgium and the Netherlands are also set to discuss joining the US-led coalition.
