Two French fighter jets struck four hangars belonging to Islamic State on Thursday (September 25) near the Iraqi city of Fallujah, the French Defence Ministry said.

Shortly before 10 a.m Iraq time, Rafale jets identified the targets before launching laser-guided missiles.

France became the first foreign government to join the United States' military action last Friday (September 19).
