Paterson, NJ.- William Araujo is a native of New Jersey, born and raised in the Newark metro area. He currently lives in Edison, NJ with his wife and daughter where he serves on the township planning board. Despite his challenging upbringing, Willie, as he likes to be called, has worked hard to accomplish more than the average 42-year-old. The pride of his life is his family. He has been married for 23-years to his beautiful wife, Iris, and together they have 2 children. Their son, Michael, is proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force and their daughter, Samantha, is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
In addition to providing for and raising such an amazing family, Willie also served as an Edison township auxiliary police officer for 3 years and ran for mayor of Edison in 2009. Without having any political background or funding, his success in the run for his first political office took many by surprise. Though he did not win the mayoral seat, he was appointed to the Edison Township planning board.
In addition to his political aspirations, Willie is also a creative thinker who received his first official patent in 2010. In his spare time he enjoys investing in the stock market, running, and sipping on a fresh cup of coffee. Though he likes to credit himself as an "ordinary guy," he is certainly accomplishing extraordinary things.
