Town mourns for UK hostage

Floral and other tributes were evident throughout the northern England home town of the British aid worker killed by Islamic State militants.

Alan Henning's brother-in-law praised the man held hostage since last December as he took medical supplies to a hospital in Syria.

(SOUNDBITE)(English) COLIN LIVESEY, BROTHER-IN-LAW OF MURDERED BRITISH HOSTAGE ALAN HENNING, SAYING:

"He was a fantastic guy, a loving guy, a loving man who would go out of his way to help someone. He had a heart of gold. Just one awesome guy that I love to bits with all my heart and he'll be sadly missed."

The President of the Muslim Association of Britain added his voice to the condemnation of Henning's death.
