Bolivia elected to UN Human Rights Council

The General Assembly of the United Nations elected the Plurinational State of Bolivia to its Human Rights Council. Of the 47 members elected for the three year term in office to begin in 2015, three are from Latin America (Bolivia, El Salvador, and , Paraguay). The decision reflects broad international recognition of the country's commitment to human rights, as reflected in the provisions contained in the 2009 constitution.
