To dream of the same
night upon night
an unfulfilled promise
a loose end
fit to be tied
like a noose around the neck
but the spell...it wears off
and the dreams subside...
cured with precious time
a calmness at last
becomes emptiness at best
then nostalgia for nightmares
of something new
longing for their return
with a vengeance they do
but for a moment...alas!
happiness.
and the cold heart it takes
the gold heart...
it breaks!
see the bright colors that fade
and the ones who stay
in the cycle that spins,
relentless
