Richard Clayton - My Therapy Group Session

By not being cognizant of how much I ate,
Like so many others, I became overweight,
And, in dieting, I was so proficient at cheating,
I decided to attend a weight control meeting,
With losses or gains recorded, week after week,
As a human, I'm on or off program, so to speak,
Always conscious of the waistline's ebb and flow,
It's going well if I weigh less than six months ago,
And, as peculiar as this poem honestly sounds,
Over the last three years, I've lost sixty pounds,
I have twenty more pounds to lose to be at goal,
Hopefully it will happen in my lifetime, bless my soul.
