I could hear a couple of days ago
As I sat in my reclining chair
A whirring sound and looked up
A little humming bird was there

He tried to send me a message
I heard it loud and clear
I knew just what he wanted
I smiled at the little dear

I cooked the sugar and water
Let it awhile cool and then
Poured it into the feeder
Yes, that’s the yearly trend

And now I sit and smile a lot
So many it’s hard to keep track
Of those tiny whirling birds
Yes, the hummers are definitely back!
