Resolute

steady and unchanging
this is a heart of love
worn high upon shoulder
as a badge of the soul
there for the world
and every soul soul to see
time has been indifferent
wounded and healed
scarred and kissed
yet it remains in place
it beats on regardless
a heart of love forever more
steady and unchanging
now it has a name to call
a love to grow into
this is a heart
resolute
