Is something foreboding
coming my way?
Or is the apprehension
just troubling today?
Is it just me
that senses a wave
of stormy waters
that rant and rave?
I hardly think
that I am alone.
For there are many souls
that can feel the groan.
This earth, our mother
is quite aware
of how I feel
as I sit and stare.

I stare into space
and pray for the young.
I have lived long
and my songs I've sung.
But they deserve a day
when something foreboding
won't enter their thoughts
or come their way.
