I wonder how much guilt one heart can take
I hear the cries of the souls I have stained
I see the future close at hand
I want to leave the past behind and live for today

I pretend to hold it all inside
I feel the love in her eyes
I touched her soul and I finally feel at home
I worry for what the future might hold
I cry when it all becomes too much

I understand the pain that is all too real
I say what I believe is truly right
I dream of a better tomorrow
I try to forgive myself for the past
