Merciless
monsoon breaks
Westerly
winds strong
lift up
the roof
from under
its tethers weak
As if
a roosting falcon's
feathers
it flaps
in the gale
Rafters quiver
Shatter
hopes and peace
in thunder shower
And
rain invades
I shift possessions
many a time
Mom
grumbles from
a smokey damp kitchen
blowing hard at the embers
dying
And placing pans
under the drips
Rain or shine
dad never
shifts position
Blows on new books
of all sorts
