STORY: For the 13th time Elton John called upon his friends to help raise money for HIV/AIDS.
The British singer held his annual An Enduring Vision to support the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) in New York on Tuesday (October 28).
"I started the Elton John AIDS Foundation 22 years ago. Can you believe that? The difference 22 years can make. It's completely different - it's a completely different world today we're living in," John told the crowd.
During the evening John and his husband and foundation chairman David Furnish handed out five Enduring Vision awards to those with a continuing commitment to fighting HIV/AIDS.
John not only hosted the evening he provided the night's entertainment with a solo piano performance.
At the end of the night the foundation raised $3.7 million.
