Lebanon is suffering from the spillover of the Syrian civil war just across the border. This week the conflict escalated again in Tripoli. The country's second-largest city is no stranger to sectarian violence, but this time the fighting reached the historic centre of Tripoli, and the Lebanese army struggled to regain control. It's the second time in three months that Sunni fighters affiliated with either the al-Nusra Front or the Islamic State group have attempted to gain a foothold in Lebanon.
