Elizabeth Norment is known for her role on the Netflix series ‘House of Cards’. The actress recently passed away at the age of 61.

Her agent, Dianne Busch this week confirmed her death to news outlets, however Norment actually passed away on October 13th at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Her most recent role was the secretary of Kevin Spacey’s character, Frank Underwood on ‘House of Cards’. A writer and producer for the show has released a statement referencing her death that notes “Everyone at ‘House of Cards’ is deeply saddened by Elizabeth’s passing. She was a talented actress, a warm soul and a good friend to us all."

Spacey used Twitter to express his grief and spoke on behalf of the show’s crew, saying everyone loved her and that they are all left with a void.

Norment graduated from the Yale School of Drama. From there, her acting career took off.

She appeared in a number of TV shows including ‘Party of Five’ and ‘Mad About You’. She also portrayed a judge on ‘Law & Order’ between the years of 2002 and 2008.
