Sitting quietly,
All is well,
Way past midnight,
Who can tell,
Will tomorrow,
Bring respite,
Cold and windy,
Darkest night.

Sitting quietly,
By my screen,
Read some poems,
Never seen,
Telling stories,
Ringing bell,
Cast a coin,
Wishing well.

Sitting quietly,
All in bed,
I should rest now,
Weary head,
Work tomorrow,
Weekend looms,
Time for shopping,
Cleaning rooms.

Sitting quietly,
Home alone,
Turn off TV,
Ansaphone,
Hear a message,
Call back soon,
Come tomorrow,
Afternoon.

Sitting quietly,
Silent thoughts,
Quiet contentment,
Can’t be bought,
Busy schedule,
Day by day,
How time quickly,
Flies away.
