Pennsylvania State Police are on the hunt for a couple who allegedly stole 12 hundred dollars worth of teeth whitening merchandise from a Target store in Hempfield Township on October 27th.
Teeth whitening products are popular sellers, but they often contain high price tags. Unfortunately, that makes the items targets for some thieves.
Pennsylvania State Police are on the hunt for a couple who allegedly stole 12 hundred dollars worth of teeth whitening merchandise from a Target store in Hempfield Township on October 27th.
Law enforcement officials have reviewed the surveillance footage and suspect the two are a team, one being the lookout while the other steals the items.
A trooper involved in the case further elaborated “There’s a female that is taking the teeth whitening equipment; she’s putting it in her purse. They approach her as she’s leaving the store. The male that’s with her starts a fight and attacks the loss prevention officer.”
The store staffer had watched as the woman allegedly stashed the items in her handbag which was in the shopping cart.
Both suspects managed to get away in a 4-door silver car. The loss prevention officer wasn’t seriously hurt in the scuffle.
A police spokesman said the stolen whitening kits are top of the line and that they’ll likely be sold online or to consignment shops.
