I like it when the day dawns, not when daylight looms ahead
And I am subjugated to the twisting of the hours
Each tearing at the space beneath my heart
Which sinks at every bell at every nod
Into the void within my sacred place
That is not open to another hand
Another's offering
Another's gift
But longs
For day
