My aunt, she says, “you look good, have you lost weight? ”
And I say, “I haven’t eaten much lately, I spent the fall feeding on cigarettes and rain,
I’ve been wasting my pain away, I’ve been dying a little.”
“Why is that? ”
“I lost my love.”
“It’s okay, ” she answers, knowing,
“looking this good will get you another in no time.”
