Philip Hoom - Ward Of My Care

Come for me.

I will be receptive
I will disperse the clouds
that hang like swords above your head
and steal away with your peace of mind.

You can share my bed and my discomfort.

You can wrap my sheets around your bare frame
and rest your breasts upon my stomach.
Tonight we can sleep like extended royalty;
a viscount and a viscountess.

This is a safe haven.

A place to migrate from the harsh climbs.
I’m not husband material,
I unravel too easily.
But I can offer you my time and cradling arms.

I can make you a ward of my care.
