A few days after her first attempt at dying
There was no white light serenade of hope
Just a few visits from sad eyed relatives
A card, a magazine and some wilted flowers.
Her failed break out of her tragic bleakness
Had left her with an entourage of doctors and nurses,
A bottle of happy pills and a pile of bills.
She cursed her lack of ambulance cover, but,
She just never thought she'd need an ambulance
For an injury she would wake up from.
God! If she had thought she was suffocating before
Then this sterile hospital patronisation
Must surely be the key to asphyxiation.
The fire red sunset out her window spurred her on
Told her to be proactive for once in her life!
And she found her self complete in that smug satisfaction
As she was Falling from the bridge “against medical advice”
A few days after her first attempt at dying
She had realised there was no comfort in just trying
