Would that I could
Break from this gray
This changable mass
This lump of clay
This body-costume, unzipped
I'd cast it away
To step out in wonder
In purest form
Hummingbird warm
A glowing white
A pulsing light
To recoil in awe
Then spring up into night
And find my place
In spiralling flight
Beyond the clouds
That ease apart
To open my heart
And hold hands with the stars
To shed myself
These comfortable scars
WIthout this tongue
I'd sing right aong
Without these eyes
My sight would stretch far
Past the vastness
Black purple blue
A buzzing essence
To embrace the moon
I'd touch God's face
And remember you
