John Kipling Lewis - If you're going to kill me tonight

If you're going to kill me tonight,
do it slowly.

I promise you won't need to bind me.
I won't move.

If you choose a blade, let it be sharp
but make your cuts shallow.

I want to feel the warmth of my blood on my skin.

I promise you wont need to gag me.
I won't scream. I'll close my eyes
and bite through my lip.

If you're going to kill me tonight,
let me feel my life slip away.

As my breath slows, as the end nears, kiss
me gently on my forehead. I love you.
