Rusty railings lend their shadows
to the narrow strech of a beer littered
alleyway.
Drooping bare branches
like tired limbs
hang over the graffiti'd grey wall.
A bodiless cat, with maralade eyes
purrs with acrobatic pride,
tight rope prancing on a leaf littered gutter.
Leaves stream past my feet
their autumn cries of decay
silenced as they swirl into the tarmac
river below.
A mouldy bearded football
rests between a half drowned trolley
and a slime shinning brick.
Daisy chain alley
Dead, decaying narrow valley
Only now do I question your name.
