my fingers lift weights with the largest spoon in my utensil drawer
it is deep, like a drowning smile
long slender neck, like a model's
&
I push it toward the bottom
of my pint sized dinner companion:
a half-baked dairy explosion fusing
cookies and calories
peanut butter and acid reflux
chocolate, crunchy and silky
the milky reminder of my stomach's
self-diagnosed lactose intolerance
