Last night I was saying my prayers when I suddenly
realized Satan could probably hear me just as easily
as God could. He could be listening to what I was
telling God and could use it to trip me up.
So I think we should all stop praying out loud.
We’re only spilling the beans to Satan.
Instead, we should just “think” our prayers.
Actually, I’m not sure that’s a good idea because
maybe God will have a tough time differentiating
between our prayer-thoughts and our regular
thoughts. They do have a tendency to get all mixed
together. Besides, thinking your prayers doesn’t feel
very participatory.
I guess we could just mouth our prayers without
making a sound, but what if Satan can read lips? So
maybe just go ahead and say your prayers out loud
but just keep your mouth shut while you’re doing it.
I know, I know, it will sound unintelligible, kind of
like you’re gagged: Mmrrf fmnr rffm! Can you
imagine a whole prayer like that? I hope God can
decipher it!
The alternative is to simply pray like you normally
do but throw in a bunch of lies and fake desires to
throw Satan off the track.
