Melvina Germain - (250) Need a fix

You kids have to wait,
So I can hit the streets
I have to find me a fix,
To get back on my feet.

Mommy won’t take long,
Listen to this cool song.
Take a drink of brandy,
try to sing along.

Mommy’s head is hurting.
My eyes are all a blur.
I’m skitching all over,
and now I’m starting to slur.

Forgive me, my babies,
there’s nothing I can do.
I have a monkey on my back,
that takes me away from you.

Someday I’ll be clean,
I’ll do it just for you.
The time will surely come,
when I will see it through.

Not just yet, I’m not ready.
I need to fly high once more,
in order to keep steady.
