For all those who fight on freedom's road.
Hear the cries on freedom’s road above the cannon’s roar
See the faces of anguish in the tide of war
See the smoke, smell the cordite
That covers the dying, ten thousand and more
Innocence dies a lonely death on any battlefield
Boys turn to men and are slaughtered by the score
How can we stop all these wicked wars
Mothers and widows weep the bitter tears of grief
There is no easy path to take when you fight on freedom’s road
