Theresa Ann Moore - No Farewells

I have to admire the optimistic view you had
You refuse to dwell on the news that was bad
Life was for living fully and not sadly lamenting
Looking death in the eye you were not consenting

You had too many things to do, and could not sit idly
Your bountiful green garden made you beam widely
White lilies were blooming; you inhaled the lovely smell
Your days were very busy; there is no time to say farewell

Your stature shriveled and your frail body succumbed to pain
Reaching for another pill, you refused to justifiably complain
Although your inevitable fate could not be denied any longer
Your love and concern for others was growing ever stronger

You celebrated every moment as you casually stopped to chat
To the end you did not want to dampen the emotional climate
With a smile you joked around and took the focus off of you
We did not have a clue that today would be your final adieu
