do not loosen the grip,
for tomorrow i may need you most.
as strangers we met,
while negotiating an unseasonal downpour
near the club house,
underneath a caesalpinea tree,
what magic the clouds wove,
what fragrance the flowers released,
what madness the thirsty earth spread,
what silent words our hearts exchanged,
we have stayed friends ever since.
donot please loosen the clasp now,
i have found a soul mate in you,
different climes, different languages,
so what, we say,
we speak the language of love,
of togetherness, of poetry,
dont you ever say
you may leave me one day.
as long as life is there,
grip and clasp are bound to get loose,
but
if life departs,
then
cannot our poetry
hold the clasp
as strong as
you and i would like it to be.
.....a t p
dedicated to i.
