Friday the thirteenth and my wife's aunt Haley died this morning
Oldest of ten children and she was one of the last to go
Held on long enough to say goodbye
To more than half her siblings....
My wife said one of her uncles was a drunk
I can relate....Said he was run over by a train
I contend if your going to be run over by a train
It should be a train of thought......like 'Get off the tracks! '
At least he was drunk when the train cut him off
Another uncle was a war hero....
I had never met a real live war hero of any war....
All of the ones I knew were killed and of those I knew many.....
But this uncle was an inventor of multi tasking fishing lures
They could call the fish to the boat, catch it, put it in the cooler
And later scale, clean it and then cook it for dinner
He was quite the guy....Pearl Harbor vet....
At least now he's with those hero friends of his....
I asked my wife about this dead aunt...
She didn't seem to know much about her except
She was the oldest of ten siblings....and she was going to be cremated
This just in....my wife's mother called with great news!
Aunt Haley didn't die on Friday the thirteenth...but at 11: 47 pm Thursday the twelfth
What a stroke of luck!
