Carried so gently in the house
Careful each step
Walk softly like a mouse
My heart giving one big leap

On the counter I delicately sat it
Looking in amazement at its size
Ah my pride it will not quit
I am telling you the truth, nope not a lie it was a prize

Quick grasp the scale
I must weigh it before it is cut!
Just as I thought without fail
It could feed a family of ten in a hut

Twenty six pounds of juicy succulent delight
My watermelon I grew from a lil’ green stem
Perfect for the party going on tonight
My guest will all be happy, yes all of them
