Like brilliant diamonds in the skies
Is the sparkle in Naomi's eyes
Gleaming from beneath straight brows
In a sculptured classic face that tries
So hard to stay straight and serious.
But five feet tall in stocking'd feet
This clever lady so petite,
Unafraid of judge or jury
Brilliantly illuminates
As she debates and illustrates
Her client's side of the story.
Through her brilliant oratory
She leads you on so very slowly
Until with parry, feint, riposte
Lunge, counter- lunge and final thrust
Touche-you find your case is lost.
Day's end among her friends
Conversation witty, gently mocking
Ending in contagious laughter-
Bawdy, rumbling, wild and bold
Catching us all within its fold.
Inside, a vulnerability, well hidden.
Deep loyalties, feelings unspoken
Sharing with us all her love
Her gentle care for home and hearth,
This lioness of a lady.
