The room dark as a tunnel with no light
Slowly the last breath was released from her chest
Her heart crying no this can not be
I am not ready to leave
A darkened voice speaks, it is time

Sitting erect in her bed
Beads of sweat pouring down her forehead
Heart racing like four hundred horses pushed to the limit
Realizing it was just a dream

Sitting quietly bowing her head
Protect me Father against all harm
Encompass me with your guardian angels
Let no harm enter your hedge of protection
Shield me oh Lord

I give you thanks for this day
For the life you have given me
For your mercy that is new ever day
You are the giver of life and for this I praise you

Help me to love were there is hatred
Show me your way not mine
Guide me to help others
Lead me to your path of righteousness
And forgive me of my sins

Placing her feet upon the floor
Opening the door to a new day
Forgetting the fear placing it far behind her
Thankful for one more day
