It has forever been my despair
Like trying to catch the unseen wind
And grasping at thin air

Like a rainbow hidden behind a cloud
That is always out of reach
Or trying to count the grains of sand
On a secluded lonely beach

True love has always eluded me
Even though it is something I've longed
Like viewing the infinite stars at night
Knowing in the morning they'll all be gone

Like the sun that sends it's rays by day
Then disappears at night
Like the rain that falls from a clear blue sky
Then evaporates from my sight

True love has always eluded me
Even though I've searched many times
I wonder if you have felt like this
Or if this feeling is only mine
