I am the lonely matriarch that spends,
a lifetime - deftly catching many ends.
Connecting every loved one to a friend
to make our children fit to comprehend.
I am the mother of all ties that bind.
More dedicated one you will not find.
To feed and nurture flair - I am so bound;
my words of soft persuasion are profound.
While all around I hear the rasping sound
of our moral duty scraping on the ground.
I am the mother of all ties that bind,
and I will not rest easy on your mind.
When I am shabby, worn, quite unable
to be anything but good for natures table.
I pass on pride complete with finished label,
and my Mantle will be worn by one more able.
I am the mother of all ties that bind,
reminding all Gods children to be kind.
