You see only right and wrong, black and white,
I weigh up circumstances, shades of grey.
You brand shyness and softness as weakness,
I applaud empathy, love and astuteness.
You expect familial love and duty,
I endeavour to earn respect and love.
You are prescriptive in what one should do,
I believe strongly in freedom of choice.
You predict doom and gloom in all events,
I seek crock of gold at rainbow's end.
You try to buy love but push it away,
I know in my heart love cannot be bought.
You are closed to life as it really is,
I, m open, aware each day of my life.
We are so very different you and I,
And yet we're so closely related, sigh!
