Sitting in a rocking chair
on a porch in a summer eve.
A warm breeze drives
the garden fragrances through the air.
You close your eyes and relax
and listen to the music of the night,
to the creatures of the night time
calling through the stillness to be found.
The leaves rustling
pushed by the warming breeze,
the lonely hoot of a wise old owl
perched high somewhere,
the chirping of the crickets
in their mating call
and the almost silence
of a bat’s flapping wing.
Those are just a few of the sounds
you’ll hear as you relax back
and listen to the music of the night.
