Well, today I am older,
And I really must admit
That as I have aged,
There are things I forget!
I forget why I came into the room,
Or why I opened the cabinet door,
Or if I am on the stair,
I don't know if I should go up - or down!
I may not show up somewhere
On time, or maybe not be there at all,
And if I have things to do,
I may even forget to call.
But I remember the blue of his eyes,
Like a rain-kissed summer sky,
And I remember the feel of his hair,
As soft and silken as springtime air.
I remember the smell of his skin,
And the aftershave he wore was Aramis.
I remember the shape of his lips
And I remember, most of all, his kiss.
I had to stand on tiptoes
Just to reach his mouth,
But I remember his arms around me
As he reached down and lifted me up.
Some things I may forget today,
And some things I may never recall,
But the taste of his mouth, and his kiss?
I have no trouble remembering that, at all!
