An almost empty, two day old yogurt cup,
was still sitting on the kitchen counter top
next to the stagnant soapy water in the sink,
a spoon stuck in its uncovered open mouth,
it was wearing a full fur coat; in this heat
but that was nothing compared to the smell
of the dead family of gray squirrels
that had become stuck in the chimney…….
