You are there,
In the tenderness of new born,
the stillness of the pond,
the whispers of new morn,
the silence of stars and moon
Entwined in heavenly bond.

Yes, I know you are there,
in the simplicity of a single cell,
the complexity of myself,
in the gentleness of the rain.
Your grandeur straddles atop mountains,
the thunder and lightening booms your exuberance.

But,

Where are you?
when in your name,
brother slaughters brother,
earth opens,
swallows mother, sister raped.
Then battered and bruised,
honour killing they say,
leaving mouths agape.

Where are you?
when in your creation,
I see hunger, disease and devastation.
I see man, no respect for woman,
child not for parents,
and vice versa.
Love conditional.
Love, only for money and sex.

I’m but a human,
See only the indigenous
Help me.
I have no choice,
But to climb further to seek u
Teach me to take one day at a time.
