Love doesn’t live here anymore
It walked out and slammed the door
It packed it memories and faded photographs
It took its dreams, it took its laughs
A vacuum sucked out every passion
Leaving a stale fragrance out of fashion
Love has lost my home address
A saddened frown left to pick up the mess
Pain a daily companion to which I must confess
Every obstacle a mountain I must impress
Our companionship no longer entwined
Face value and insanity combined
Love doesn’t live here anymore
I’ve been this way before
I know there is going to be some pain
And bitter tears will flow like rain
It took all that was good
Did more damage than it should
Your picture doesn’t hang on my wall
How it disappeared I can’t recall
It must have fallen when you slammed the door
And shattered all my dreams forever more
All the bridges were burned from here to there
Left no trail, just suffering and despair
Love doesn’t live here anymore
No more treats from the candy store
The desire went out with the trash
Leaving a deeper than deep moral gash
Now tears fall from the sky
Filling up an ocean with each sigh
The mirror in the bathroom is cracked
We never saw the life lines that we lacked
We didn’t bother to pick up the pieces
Or the bitterness and harm that it releases
So I’ll just sadly lock the door
Because love doesn’t live here anymore
