Give me a man
Who wants the moon
But demands nothing.
Give me a man
Who adores my cats
And cleans their litter,
Prepares dinner
And does the washing up.
Give me a man
Who’ll hold me all night
Whispering sweet nothings into my ear
And not expect a civil word in return
Over breakfast.
Give me a man
Who’ll hear my rhymes
And sing my praises.
Who knows his place
And positions me into mine.
Give me a man
Who’ll worship my body
And admire my soul.
On second thoughts,
Damn it,
Just give me a man,
I’ll sort out the rest.
