I woke this day to see through cirrus clouds and mist
a gusty wind blows from the Bay into my hair,
that bloody dream still sticks, I will reveal the gist
I walked inside the room, Hotel Pacific Fair.
Nothing to please the eyes, a mess of foreign things
a woman's dress flung casually atop a litter box
two kittens, fiery eyes, descendants from strange kings
a pair of purple pink and salt and pepper socks.....
He did not look too pleased to see me standing there,
security arrived to ascertain the current status quo
we run a decent house here, at Pacific Fair
and then they asked their questions, much to know.
Your room adjoins so we will let you be this time
(there was the wall to the outside, and NO next door)
though calm had now returned, as there had been no crime
I was confused and just remained there, seventh floor.
Would someone tell me where I live, I shouted out
here, take my name, I have no cats and wear no dress
a man in uniform, moustached and rather stout
took me aside and said my friend it is YOUR guess.
We cannot know where you reside, as we encrypt
all real passwords of our guests and passers-by
it all is classified and I must be tight-lipped
so sorry, I must bid you on this day Good Bye.
I now was homeless as the room was never mine
and those who'd have me had absconded so it seemed,
I bought a bottle of Vermouth, the streetbum's wine,
I did remember that the priest had said 'redeemed'.
