Johannes Yeboah - Change

Slowly the Sun bids farewell
Closes its eyes and zips its lips
Not to shine again as the day suddenly drifts
Only for the Moon to say, 'It's okay, you've done well'.

As a caterpillar nibbles and wriggles
On leaves: a villain, but quite feeble
A villain, so cunning and sly
Suddenly turns a magnificent butterfly

Sparkling rubies fetched on the Moon are mere stones on Earth
Alive, one minute; the next, encompassed by the climate of Death
Melodious today; guttural tomorrow
All makes the minstrel's song one filled with sorrow

Johannes Yeboah
